Minnesota Head Coach John Anderson was named Mideast Coach of the Year by the America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Along with Anderson, Nick O'Shea (Blaine, Minn.) had also been named First-Team All-Region at first base and Phil Isaksson (Eau Claire, Wis.) received second-team honors.

Anderson was also named Big Ten Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his career. He collected those honors in 1982, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2004. This year, Anderson helped lead the Gophers to their fifth Big Ten regular-season title since 2000, and guided them to their ninth first-place Big Ten regular season finish in his career (four in divisional play and five in non-divisional play).

Minnesota sat at 6-7 in Big Ten play on May 1, but won nine of the next 10 games to claim the Big Ten regular-season title. The Golden Gophers were also 15-24 on Apr. 24, before finishing 17-6 in their final 23 games. Anderson has guided the Golden Gophers a second-place or better finish in Big Ten play in 22 of his 29 seasons at Minnesota, and has taken Minnesota to the NCAA Regional round in nine of the last 13 seasons.

O'Shea received First-Team All-Region honors after being named First-Team All-Big Ten in the regular season. He was the first Golden Gopher first baseman to be named First-Team All-Big Ten since Andy Hunter claimed the honors in 2004, and joined Robb Quinlan (1998-99), Jeff Monson (1991), Paul Weinberg (1988), Gary Morgan (1971), Mike Walseth (1968-69), Dennis Zacho (1967) and Wayne Knapp (1959-61) as one of nine Golden Gophers to claim first-team accolades at first base. O'Shea finished the season batting .333 with 13 home runs, 60 RBI, 44 runs and 19 doubles.

Isaksson received Second-Team All-Region honors after being named Second-Team All-Big Ten in the regular-season. He was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team after picking up the win in a strong pitching performance in the Big Ten Tournament Championship game against Iowa. Isaksson joined, Seth Rosin and TJ Oakes as the only entire starting pitching staff in the Big Ten to claim All-Conference honors. On the season, Isaksson finished 6-2 with a 3.72 ERA and had an opposing batting average of .252.
