Gophersports: What are you most looking forward to as you start at the U?
Tess Behrens: I'm really looking forward to being independent and living on my own. I'm excited for new classes and making new friends! Oh, and swimming in college is pretty cool too!
GS: How does it feel to represent your home state?
TB: Amazing! Being so close to home and having that kind of support is great!
GS: You listed reading as one of your hobbies in the questionnaire. What are a few of your favorite books?
TB: I just finished Pride & Prejudice, which I loved. A few of my other favorites are Gulliver's Travels, Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea, and the Twilight series (yes, I know).
GS: What are your goals for your career at Minnesota?
TB: Swimming wise, I would like to make it to NCAAs and I'm also going to try for a few school records. Mostly, though, I want to simply make friends and have fun! As far as school, I want to get my degree, but I don't know what for exactly yet.
GS: What are you up to this summer?
TB: Most of my summer will be dedicated to swimming, of course. Other than that, my teammates and I have a summer bucket list that we are going to do. I'm just going to enjoy my last summer as a high schooler!
