Gophers Finish Play At ITA Central Region Championships

Minnesota's run at the 2011 USTA/ITA Central Region Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla., came to an end on Saturday.

On Friday, Natallia Pintusava and Julia Courter both advanced to the round of 16 with two wins in singles play, but both failed to advance on Saturday.

Pintusava, who was the No. 1 seed, fell to Patricia Veresova of Nebraska 6-2, 6-4 in the third round, while Courter lost 6-0, 6-1 to Iowa's Sonja Molnar. Molnar is the second overall seed.

No Gophers advanced in doubles play on Saturday.

Minnesota will complete the fall season by playing at the Kitty Harrison Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. Nov. 4-6.
