The University of Minnesota women's swimming and diving team remained unbeaten Friday night as they defeated host Iowa, 205-95, on the road at the University of Iowa Aquatic Center in Big Ten action. The Golden Gophers claimed first-place finishes in 13 of the 16 events, while also posting three NCAA provisional qualifying times and three pool records.

Minnesota was the first team to beat the Hawkeyes in 2011-12, allowing the squad to improve its record to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in league competition. Iowa dropped to 2-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Big Ten.

The 200 medley relay team of Tess Behrens, Emma Jackson, Rebecca Weiland and Erin Caflisch set the tone for the dual meet by defeating the field in 1:42.74 to open action, before freshman Jessica Plant posted a NCAA provisional qualifying time and Iowa Aquatic Center pool record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.15.

Behrens continued her dominance in the backstroke events for the Gophers, placing first in both the 100 and 200 backstroke races. Her time of 53.69 in the 100 was not only the fastest of the night, but was her third provisional qualifying time in the event this year and set a pool record. The sophomore followed that up with a time of 2:01.08 in the 200 for her third title of the dual.

Freshman Katie Anton did not make it easy for Behrens in the 200 backstroke, touching the wall a mere .05 seconds after the sophomore for second place.

Jackson added her second title of the meet in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.75 and freshman Tori Simenec tallied another three titles for Minnesota in the 200 butterfly (2:02.85), the 400 freestyle relay (3:22.97) and the 100 freestyle, with her time of 50.52 in the 100 freestyle setting a pool record.

Along with Behrens and Simenec, Caflisch, Weiland, Plant and reigning Big Ten Diver of the Week Maggie Keefer also had multiple wins for the Golden Gophers.

Caflisch, Plant and Marissa Davies, as well as Simenec, won the 400 freestyle relay, while Weiland added a victory in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.22 to go along with her earlier win as part of the 200 medley relay.

For the second-straight week, Keefer claimed titles in both 1 meter and 3 meter diving. The sophomore posted NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks in both events with scores of 290.93 in 1 meter and 324.38 in 3 meter.

Freshman Blake Zeiger rounded out the team's 13 wins with a time of 23.61 in the 50 freestyle.

The Gophers return to action Nov. 11-13 as they play host to the Grand Prix at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
