Gophers Wins Five Matches In Singles At Kitty Harrison Invitational

The Minnesota women's tennis team completes its fall season this weekend at the Kitty Harrison Invitational. The three-day event is being held in both Chapel Hill and Durham, N.C.
The Gophers got off to a strong start, as Minnesota posted five wins in singles play and three in doubles. Posting victories for the Maroon and Gold were Magdalena Wiecha, Natallia Pintusava, Doron Muravnik, Yuliana Umanets and Emilie Renault. All five of the wins in singles came against competitors from Furman.
In doubles, Wiecha and Alexa Palen teamed up to post a win against North Carolina State, as did Muravnik and Renault.
Pintusava and Umanets earned a doubles win against Princeton.
The Gophers return to the courts for the second round on Saturday.
