Former Gophers Set for UFC 141 Tonight

Two former Minnesota wrestlers will be part of tonight's UFC 141, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Former UFC heavyweight champion and Minnesota wrestling alum Brock Lesnar is set to take on Alistair Overeem as the main event at UFC 141, which is being called "The Fight of the Year," by the critics.

The 2000 NCAA Heavyweight Champion, Lesnar (5-2-0) has notched notable wins against some of UFC's top fighters including Heath Herring, Randy Couture, Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. Lesnar last fought on Oct. 21 2010 at UFC 121, where he fell to Cain Velasquez, in his third title defense.

Also competing tonight with Gopher ties is Jacob Volkman. Volkman will take on Efrain Escudero in the prelims. Volkmann, (13-2) has won his last four fights, including his last fight on Aug. 14 against Danny Castillo, where he won by a unanimous decision.

Volkmann's fight will be broadcasted live on Facebook. There will be four matches broadcasted on Facebook starting at 5:50 CST.

UFC 141 will be broadcast live on pay-per-view at 9 p.m. CST.
