Price Places Fifth in Top Mt. SAC 10,000 Meters

Minnesota sophomore Stephanie Price ran to a fifth-place finish in the Mt. SAC Relays Invitational Elite 10,000 meters on Thursday night in Walnut, Calif. Price clocked a time of 34 minutes, 2.15 seconds in her very first career 10K. Her time ranks fourth in Golden Gopher history.

Redshirt freshman Katie Moraczewski ran the eighth-fastest time in school history while placing 13th in the Open A 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:52.56. Paige Orcutt finished 17th overall in the Open B 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Price was joined by two other Gophers running their first career 10,000-meter races. Laura Docherty placed eighth in the 10,000m open race with a time of 35:46.57. Annie Talajkowski was 26th in 36:20.06.

Two former Gophers won Mt. SAC Relays titles on Thursday. Emily Brown won the Olympic Development Invitational Elite 10,000 meters in a time of 33:16.44. Jamie Cheever captured the title in the Olympic Development Elite 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:02.18.
