Gophers in Ninth at Buckeye Invite

After posting rounds of 312 and 326 in rounds one and two of the Lady Buckeye Invitational respectively, the Minnesota women's golf team is ninth place at the 12 team tournament in Columbus, Ohio. With one round to play, the Gophers sit 10 strokes back of fifth place and seventeen back of second place Kent State.


Michele Edlin posted the low score of the Day for Minnesota after rounds of 77 and 81, good for a tie for 22nd place with a total of 158. Teresa Puga and Samantha Sommers are both tied in 32nd with 160. Puga carded 78 over his first 18 holes and followed up with an 82, while Sommers opened with an 81 and coupled that with a 79.

Mary Narzisi scores totaled 163 after scores of 79 and 84 respectively to put her in 46th , and Banchalee Theingthong is tied for 52snd after going 78, 87. Jackie Shepherd shot an 83 and 84 to tie for 59th with 18 holes to play.

Michigan State leads the field after shooting 303 and 300 for a total of 603. Eighteen back of the Spartans is Ken State, with host Ohio State in third.
