MINNEAPOLIS -- For the fourth time this season, Minnesota pitcher Sara Moulton has earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.

The Eagan, Minn., native went 2-1 over the weekend and did not surrender an earned run in 16 innings of work. In a midweek win over Wisconsin, Moulton allowed just three hits and struck out seven in complete-game shutout. In the weekend opener against Purdue, the freshman once again went the distance, allowing just six hits with four strikeouts, and surrendering just two unearned runs in the victory.

With eight games remaining on the schedule in 2011, Moulton has already written her name into the school record book. Her 13 shutouts this season are just one shy of tying the season record at Minnesota while she also has posted the fourth most wins in a season with 25 (just one shy of tying for second) and the fourth most strikeouts in school history with 277.
