Gophers Earn Fifth at Robert Kepler Invite

The University of Minnesota men's golf team concluded its regular season with a fifth place finish atthe Robert Kepler Collegiate Tournament on Sunday. The Gophers posted their lowest round of the weekend with a 286 to finish the 54-hole event with total score of 885 at the 11 team tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
Donald Constable earned his fifth top ten finish of the year with a fifth place finish after two-under-par 72 in the final round. The senior captain ended the week with a three-round score of 213.
Playing in only his second event of the spring, Cameron White finished in a solid tie for 20th (221) after a 73 on Sunday . Erik Van Rooyen concluded his weekend tied for 23rd (222) after a team low, two-under 69 over the final 18 holes.
Jonm Trasamar and David Haley Jr. both tied for 51st place (231) after ending their event’s with identical 74’s.
Illinois and Ken State tied for the tournament championship, both tallying 280 over the final round for 54-hole totals of 587. Host Ohio State (860) took home third, while Iowa (872) place just ahead of Minnesota in fourth.
Fittingly, Luke Guthrie of Illinois and John Hahn of Kent State shared medalist honors with event totals of 210.
With their regular season concluded, the Gophers will now head to the Big Ten Championships in West Lafayette, Indiana from April 29 - May 1st.
