Gophers in Sixth With One Round Left at LSU Invite

The Gopher men's golf team posted scores of the 295 and 208 respectively in the first two rounds of the LSU Invitational and currently sits in sixth place (603) heading into Sunday's final round in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In a tie for eighth place with 18 holes remaining, Erik Van Rooyen is leading the way for Minnesota after carding rounds of 72 and 74. Three back of Van Rooyen in a tie for 12th is Donald Constable, who carded a 74 in round one and a 75 in round two.

Jon Trasamar is in a tie for 25th after a solid two under 70 in round one, but a disappointing 81 over the next 18 holes. Robert Bell and David Haley Jr. are both tied in 54th place. Bell opened with an 84 and finished the day with a 78, while Haley Jr. went 79 and 83 respectively.

Michigan holds the top spot on the leaderboard after rounds of 296 and 291 (587) by just one shot over Big Ten foe Iowa. Tournament host LSU sits in third at 589, while Chattanooga (595) and VCU (602) round out the top five at the University Club.
