Bjugstad and Holl were two of 40 players invited and will be auditioning for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team that will take part in the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2011-Jan. 5, 2012, in Calgary and Edmonton, Alta.
The camp, which will take place at Lake Placid's Olympic Center from Aug. 6-13, includes practices, intra-squad scrimmages and international games featuring Finland, Sweden and the United States.
Bjugstad represented the United States last year at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship and helped lead Team USA to a bronze medal. The 18-year-old had two goals and two assists in six games for the U.S. squad. Both of his goals were game-winning goals, as he scored the overtime winner against Finland and the goal that secured the bronze medal for the U.S. against Sweden.
The Blaine, Minn., native had 20 points in 29 games last season as a Gopher, but had 16 points in his final 16 games en route to receiving the Frank Pond Rookie of the Year award.
Holl, a 19-year-old defenseman, played in 25 games last season for Minnesota. He tallied one goal and six assists in his first season of collegiate hockey. His lone goal was an unassisted game-winner in the season-opener against Massachusetts. The Tonka Bay, Minn., native took only six minor penalties last season, which was tied for the second fewest amount on the team.
