Gophers Compete at USRowing Club Nationals

Members of the University of Minnesota rowing team competed at the USRowing Club National Championships last weekend, held in Indianapolis, Ind. The Minnesota Development Camp placed second in the intermediate eight and intermediate four events.
The 2011 campaign marked the first time since 2005 that any U of M rowers medaled at the Club National Championships. Minnesota brought 13 rowers and two coxswains as it entered 20 boats. Of the 20 entries, different combinations formed from the single sculls to the eights. Gopher rower Becky Kinchen raced with USRowing Development Camp-Washington that placed first in the in the intermediate pairs event.
Competing in the eight was Rachel Sartor-stroke, Leah Rogotzke-7 seat, Kayla Thom-6 seat, Ali Haws-5 seat, Nicolle Fisher-coxswain, Katie Anderson- bow seat, Alexandria Voss-2 seat, Gina Schneider (from University of San Diego) 3 seat and Maddy Bourgeois-4 seat. Competing in the winning four was Sartor, Rogotzke, Thom, Haws and Fisher.
