The Minnesota women's rowing team will once again participate in the "Walk to Defeat ALS" event Saturday at 10 a.m. around Lake Harriett. The Golden Gophers will be walking in the event for the fourth-straight year as part Brad's Brigade, in honor of teammate Rachel Rogers' and former Gopher Mikaela Rogers' father, Brad, who succumbed to ALS this past winter.

The three-mile event is put on annually by The ALS Association Minnesota Chapter, a chapter of the national ALS Association, which is the only non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig's Disease on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
