Minnesota Rowing Opens Fall Season Sunday

The Minnesota rowing team will open its fall season close to home Sunday when it participates in the Head of the Mississippi hosted by the Minneapolis Rowing Club. The Golden Gophers will be launching from the East River Flats Park on the U of M campus, with their first event scheduled to get underway at 9:15 a.m.

The race will be rowed upstream beginning at the Minneapolis Rowing Club and ending approximately three miles from the start.

Parking is available at the River Flats Park for a small fee, while there are several additional pay lots in the area. Street parking is available above the River Flats Park, with all meters enforced.

In conjunction with Parents' Weekend, the rowing team will also be holding a "Family Learn to Row" session Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the team boathouse. The fee to partake in the event is $50 per participant, with all proceeds benefitting the rowing team.
