Minnesota Leads First Day of Jack Johnson

Cameron Boy captured a title in the 200-meter dash this afternoon and the Gophers lead the field with 30 points, after the first day of the Jack Johnson Classic. North Dakota State sits in second with 17 team points.
Boy, who finished seventh a year ago (22.53) in the same race, won this year after clocking in at 21.92. Sean King finished second with a time of 22.68.
Minnesota took second and third in the long jump, at the UM Fieldhouse. Sam Kettenhofen leaped 7.21m (23-8) to take second, while Oladipo Fagbemi jumped 7.02m (23- ½) for third place.
Logan Markuson and Macauley Spandl each are competing in the heptathlon for the Gophers. Marksuon took second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.37, while Spandl took second in the high jump, after clearing 1.82m (5-11 ½).
Minnesota will be at it again tomorrow morning with the conclusion of the two-day event. Action gets underway at 10 a.m.
