The Golden Gopher wrestling team continued its dominance in the first stretch of the season, defeating the Boise State Broncos, 30-6, today at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn. The team collected three major decisions and a pin, and fell in only two bouts on the day for the victory.

No. 5 Logan Storley started the dual at 174 pounds and got the Gophers off to a good start with a 10-1 major decision over Scott Bacon. The Gophers would ride that momentum through the next six weight classes before Boise State was able to break through.

No. 12 Scott Schiller showed up big for the Gophers at 197 lbs. with a fall in 1:31 for six team points. Up against Cody Dixon, Schiller scored a takedown off a single leg. Schiller then put Dixon in a half nelson, running him over for the pin.

Extending his winning streak to 32 matches, No. 1 Tony Nelson followed in the heavyweight bout. Although Bronco J.T. Felix put up a tough opposition, Nelson came through with two takedowns to bring in the 4-2 decision.

David Thorn, Chris Dardanes, and Nick Dardanes, posted three consecutive wins. Thorn and N. Dardanes earned major decision wins over their opponents while C. Dardanes pulled out a 9-2 victory over No. 12 Brian Owen with a two-point near fall and a takedown in the third period.

The Maroon and Gold continued to struggle at 149 lbs. and 157 lbs., allowing the Broncos to contest the Gopher shutout. Seth Lange (149 lbs.) fell to No. 2 Jason Chamberlain, 13-6, and Brad Dolezal (157 lbs.) dropped a 10-3 decision to No. 20 George Ivanov. At 165 lbs., Minnesota's Cody Yohn closed out the dual, edging Holden Packard for an 8-4 final.

The team takes a weekend off for the holiday, but will return to the mat on Saturday, Nov. 24 at North Dakota State. The dual in Fargo, N.D. will begin at 1:00 p.m. CT.
