Wilson Signs With Minnesota

University of Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill has announced the signing of Damien Wilson to a national letter of intent.
Wilson will be transferring to Minnesota from Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Miss.
The Liberty, Miss., native, who is a 6-foot 3-inch, 230-pound linebacker, led the Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges (MACJC) and was fourth in the nation with 122 tackles (76 solo) as a sophomore. In addition, he posted six tackles-for-loss, two sacks and two pass breakups.
Wilson was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player for Region 23, the MACJC's South Division Most Valuable Defensive Back, All-MACJC South Division first-team and All-Region 23.
Wilson, who was named the national Defensive Player of the Year by NationalUnderslassmen.com, will have two years of eligibility at Minnesota. He helped lead Jones to a 6-3 record and anchored a Bobcat defense that allowed only 18.1 points per game.
Wilson attended Amite County high school in Liberty, Miss.
