Minnesota Finishes up Weekend Action

Minnesota closed out their weekend on the track in fashion around the country. The Gophers had some competing at the ISU Classic in Ames, IA and others running at the FloTrack Husky Invite in Seattle. Minnesota had some high quality performances down the board today.
Harun Abda and John Holton took first and second in the 600 yd dash. Abda clocked in at 1:07.66 and Holton came in at 1:09.99.
The 4x400 relay team of Kevin Bradley, Holton, David Pachuta and Abda finished with season best time of 3:09.00, which put them in third place behind Mississippi State and Nebraska.
Minnesota also had a second place finish from Cameron Boy in the 200m dash (21.57) and Marcus Paulson took fifth in the mile (4:07.77) for the Maroon and Gold.
In the field events Micah Hegerle finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 20.62m (67-8). Jon Lehman was fourth with a mark of 19.51m (64 ¼). Quentin Mege rounded out the top five at 19.24m (63-1 ½). Mege's mark was his season best for 2012.
Oladipo Fagbemi took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 7.14m (23-5 ¼). Sam Kettenhofen jumped 6.83m (22-5) for the Gophers. Fagbemi also took third in the triple jump with a mark of 15.06m (49-5).
"We had some very solid performances today and this weekend," assistant coach Paul Thornton said. "We are getting better and we need to continue to develop each week."
Andrew Larson ran a 8:12.44 in the 3,000m out west this afternoon to take fifth place overall. Travis Burkstrand (1:49.15) and Nick Hutton (1:49.35) each competed in the 800m.
