Minnesota Rowing Set to Scrimmage at Iowa

The University of Minnesota women's rowing team is set to scrimmage against Iowa Saturday morning on the Iowa River. Action is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. Crews will begin at the Beckwith Boathouse and end at Crandic Park along Rocky Shore Drive in Iowa City.
The Gophers' varsity and novice teams will all compete in the regatta, with the varsity squad looking to build upon its success last weekend at the Oak Ridge Invitational. During the event, the Maroon and Gold secured six victories, including a sweep of Buffalo and Kansas in the morning session of the opening day.
The first varsity four, which earned Co-Big Ten Boat of the Week honors for its performance at the Oak Ridge Invitational, is made up this weekend of coxswain Jacqueline Stein, Chelsea Miller, Jaime Friscia, Nicolette Marquart and Melissa Drezdzon, while the second varsity four will consist of Rachael Rogers, Alexandria Voss, Erica Revering, Katherine Moran and Leah Rogotzke.
The first varsity eight will be made up of Emilie Sabourin, Christine Beauparlant, Ellen Hughes, Ali Haws, Rebecca Braak, Molly Kalmoe, Kayla Thom, Becky Kinchen and Rachel Sartor. The second varsity eight competing against the Hawkeyes will be coxswain Sara Baldvins, Caitlin Boon, Tabitha Andelin, Kathryn Switalski, Lynn Hodnet, Katherine Windsor, Sarah Sobek, Maddy Bourgeois and Katie Anderson.
The first novice eight will be coxswain Danica Rog, Haylee Davis, Samantha Otterson, Anna Swanson, Kathleen Charley, Mary Prior, Kalee Kemmesat, Silvia Coleman and Shannon Boardway, while the second novice eight will be coxswain Paige Burgeson, Amy VanHeel, Amanda Lueck, Sarah Schulte, Ashley Finck, Teesha Peterson, Aleah Laughlin, Eleanor Ludkey and Caitlyn Slawny.
