The Minnesota men's golf team is set for the final installment of a three consecutive weeks of competition. The Golden Gophers will play in the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La., March 31-April 1. The tournament format will consist of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Live results will be available here.

"It's been a busy stretch for us," head coach John Carlson said. "We should be ready for the LSU event coming off a good week of practice."

The LSU Invitational is a familiar event for the Gophers, who finished fifth in last year's event. Erik Van Rooyen finished sixth individually, and Carlson expects him to do well again, saying that Van Rooyen's tee shots were excellent last week and that his work on iron shots this week should help him turn in low scores.

The course: University Club Golf Course, home to LSU's golf program, is a par-72 course playing at 7,440 yards. Carlson said that it is a tough course, but that the Gophers feel confident. "I feel like it benefits our guys to play a course where you need some length off the tee," which most of the Gophers have, Carlson said.

The field: Boston College, Furman, Iowa, Iowa State, host LSU, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Michigan, UNC-Wilmington, Purdue, and UT-Chattanooga will join the Gophers this weekend. LSU is the highest-ranked team in the field at 18th in Golfweek's poll.

Note: Minnesota's next event is the Hawkeye Classic in Iowa City (April 14-15).
