Gophers to Compete at Holst Invitational

This Week's Meet
Some of the Golden Gophers will compete in the Holst Invitational on Saturday. The meet is hosted by Concordia University in St. Paul. Both track and field events will start at 10:00 a.m. at Sea Foam Stadium. For a full schedule, click here.
The Last Time Out
Last weekend, the Gophers competed at Georgia. Devin Stanford was the sole event champion for Minnesota, winning the discus with a personal best throw of 154-02 (46.99m). Alena Brooks had a successful return to the track, running a 54.08 400-meter dash and leading off the 4x400 relay that finished about one second off the school record in 3:39.22.
Gearing Up
The next week will be a big one for the Gophers. The squad will field competitors at both the Drake Relays (Des Moines, Iowa) and the Steve Scott Invitational (Irvine, Calif.). Those will be the last major meets for Minnesota before the Big Ten Championships (May 11-13). Also next week, some of the Gophers will compete at the Macalaster Invitational in St. Paul.
