Rowing Opens Big Ten Season at Double Duals

The University of Minnesota women's rowing team opens Big Ten Conference action Saturday when it travels to Bloomington, Ind., for the Big Ten Double Duals against host Indiana and Ohio State. The event will take place on Lake Lemon at Riddle Point Park beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The Gophers will go head-to-head with the Hoosiers in the morning session, with the second novice eight kicking things off in the 9:00 a.m. slot. The first novice eight will take off at 9:20 a.m., followed by the second varsity four at 9:40 a.m., the first varsity four at 10:00 a.m., the second varsity eight at 10:20 a.m. and the No. 18-ranked first varsity eight at 10:40 a.m.
Following a short break, the Maroon and Gold will take on the Buckeyes starting at 1:10 p.m. with the 2N8.
The regatta will be scored with the winning 1V8 boat receiving 18 points and the second-place receiving nine points. The same will be awarded in descending order with the winning 2V8 awarded 12 points, the winning 1V4 getting six points, the winning 2V4 and 1N8 each getting four points and the winning 2N8 getting two points.
