The Minnesota track & field season has come to a close. The 4x100-meter relay team of Todea-Kay Willis, Nyoka Giles, Chimerem Okoroji, and Kylie Peterson competed in the NCAA Championships semifinals tonight in Des Moines, Iowa, but did not advance to Saturday's final.

The Golden Gophers finished 13th overall with a time of 44.48 seconds. Their second-fastest time of the season was good for fourth place in the second heat. Only the top two finishers in each heat along with the next two best times overall advanced to the final. Qualifying times ranged from 42.68 to 43.99.

The Minnesota 4x100m relay team made history this season, setting a new school record (44.32) and becoming just the second Gopher 4x100 squad to advance to the NCAA Championships. The veteran team of two seniors and two juniors improved throughout the year to earn the chance to qualify tonight.
