Five Gophers Receive NACGC/W Scholastic All-America Honors

Five gymnasts from the University of Minnesota women's squad received National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women (NACGC/W) Scholastic All-America honors. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must carry a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the academic year.
Recent graduates, Lucy Ennis and Briana Jones received their fourth Scholastic All-America honor. Ennis and Jones graduated this past May with a degrees in Health & Wellness and Physiology.
Janell Campbell also received the award for the second-straight year. Campbell will be a senior this year and is majoring in Communication Studies.
First time honorees include Kayla Slechta and Kylie Schermann. Slechta, who will be a junior this academic year, is majoring in Kinesiology while Schermann just completed her first year as a Gopher and is majoring in the Pre-Business program.
As a team, the Golden Gophers boasted a GPA of 3.3283 for the 2011-12 academic year, which ranks them No. 31 in the nation. Southern Utah claimed the crown for highest team GPA at 3.843.
