NCAA Release | 2014-18 NCAA Championship Sites

The NCAA announced Wednesday that the University of Minnesota has been selected as one of six institutions to host a regional competition for the 2016 and 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Gymnastics Championships.

The regional championship, which will also be held at Minnesota in 2014, will return to the University of Minnesota campus three times in a five-year span after the school went without the event since it hosted the 2008 NCAA North Central Regional Championship. The Gophers also hosted the 2000 NCAA North Central Regional Championship.

Two teams from each regional will advance to the 2014 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship Finals each year.

The Championship Finals will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas in 2016 and at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo. in 2018. The 2014 final will take place at the BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Ala., as announced along the six regional sites in 2012.
