Final Results
The University of Minnesota men's golf team finished in 13th place at the weather shortened Linger Longer Invitational today in Georgia. The teams concluded the suspended second round, which ultimately turned into the final round. Due to further weather issues in the area, the final round was not played.
The Gophers opened yesterday with a combined score of 308 and shaved off 10 strokes for a final round 298. The team finished with a 36-hole score of 606.
Minnesota was paced by Tyler Lowenstein and Erik Van Rooyen on Sunday, as both players posted scores of one-over par 73. Lowenstein finished in a tie for 32nd place (148) while Van Rooyen finished in a tie for 46th place (151).
Robert Bell carded a 75 to finish in a tie for 59th place (154), followed by Jon Trasamar (158 - T72nd) and Alex Gaugert (161 - T76th).
Minnesota will now head to Palo Alto, Calif. And will take part in the Stanford Intercollegiate March 28-30.
