Visitors to Siebert Field this fall and spring will notice a new addition near the Legends Wall. The memorial garden dedicated to former baseball administrative assistant Dianne Ficenko has been moved there from its previous location near the Gophers' athletic track.

Dianne worked at the University of Minnesota from 1981 to 2005. She died tragically in a car accident in January 2005. She was one of the athletic department's longest tenured employees at the time, working with women's golf and tech services in addition to baseball. During her 24 years with the baseball team, Dianne was instrumental in organizing the Pro-Alumni Game and the Dairy Queen Classic.

Dianne will never be forgotten by the Gopher family. In addition to the garden, there is a memorial scholarship in her name that goes to a member of the Gopher baseball team. Dianne posthumously received the Minnesota athletic department's Distinguished Service Award.
