LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Rachel Banham poured in 33 points for the Gophers, but Minnesota lost to No. 18 Nebraska to an 88-85 overtime thriller on Thursday night.
Nebraska (13-3, 3-1 Big Ten Conference) trailed much of the game but took the lead late in the second half on an 18-6 run capped by an Emily Cady 3-pointer that made it 76-73 with 1:46 to go. With nine seconds remaining in regulation, Minnesota (12-6, 1-3) sent the game into overtime with a 3-pointer by Banham that tied the score at 78.
Minnesota struck first in OT and would recapture the lead one more time before Nebraska took control on back-to-back layups, and Rachel Theriot, who finished with a career-high 33 points, padded the lead with a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left.
Cady contributed 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Jordan Hooper had 18 points and 10 rebounds.
