Zeiger Named B1G Freshman of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn - Brooke Zeiger was named B1G Freshman of the Week on October 21 by the B1G Conference. This honor comes in wake of the Gophers win over the Wisconsin Badgers this past Friday, Oct. 17.
Brooke had three individual first-place finishes over Wisconsin, as well as a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay.
Brooke dominated the backstroke competition, placing first in the 100 back with a time of 56.37, and took home the gold in the 200 back with a time of 1:58.92. In the 200 IM, Brooke finished first again with a time of 2:01.78.
This is the first B1G Weekly honor for Brooke Zeiger's collegiate career.
She joins her sister, Blake, a senior freestyle and breaststroke swimmer for the Gophers. The Zeiger sisters are from Cumberland, Rhode Island.
The Gophers face the University of North Dakota this Friday, Oct. 24 at home. The meet begins at 5:00 p.m. CT.
