University of Minnesota senior forward Shae Kelley was named the Big Ten Women's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging a double-double with 20.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in the Gophers' pair of victories over Cleveland State and Memphis last week.

She added a 3.0 steals-per-game average and posted a .630 (17-for-27) field goal percentage over the course of the two games.

It is the first player of the week honor for Kelley as a Gopher and the first for the team this season.

Kelley notched career-highs with 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting, 14 rebounds and four steals in the Gophers' win over Cleveland State on Wednesday afternoon, before posting team-highs with 20 points and eight rebounds on the road at Memphis Sunday.

Through three games this season, Kelley leads Minnesota with 62 total points and a 20.7 points-per-game average, while ranking second on the squad with an average of 10.7 rebounds per game. She has scored 20 or more points in each of the Gophers' three contests this season.

Iowa's Samantha Logic, Maryland's Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Rutgers' Betnijah Laney were named to the honor roll, while Indiana's Tyra Buss and Illinois' Chatrice White shared Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.

The Maroon and Gold is set to host Southern University Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
