Mendez Wins Bronze at CAC Games

The Central American and Caribbean Games are held every four years and included more than 40 sports this year. The games are for athletes from Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Bermuda, Surinam, Guyana, Colombia and Venezuela.
Jose Mendez won a bronze medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games last week. The Gophers sophomore, 19, was the youngest competitor in the field in Veracruz, Mexico. He played for Team Costa Rica.
Mendez finished with a 9-under score of 279 in four rounds. The tournament took place at Punta Tiburon Golf Club.
