Gopher Sports: Why did you decide to attend the University of Minnesota?
Katy Etterman: I decided to attend the University of Minnesota because I knew I would receive a great education while being a part of a successful program. I loved the team atmosphere and location. Minneapolis is a great city and I have really enjoyed spending my time here.
GS: What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment?
KE: Winning Big Tens in 2014 and realizing how special it has been to be a part of such an amazing team.
GS: What is your favorite part of being a Golden Gopher?
KE: Goldy.
GS: What is your favorite pre-meet song?
KE: At Last, Etta James
GS: What is the best advice you have received from one of the coaches at Minnesota?
KE: "Don't give up." From Wenbo at Big Tens last year.
GS: What is your dream job?
KE: Joining the circus.
GS: What is your favorite post-meet meal?
KE: Steak!
GS: Do you have any other hobbies outside of diving?
KE: I enjoy being outdoors, biking, reading, drawing. Spending time with friends and family and exploring new places.
GS: What do you plan on doing after graduation?
KE: Running away and using my diving experience to join the circus for a few years before getting a job in advertising.
GS: Want to give a shout out to anyone?
KE: My little sister Betty for being a cool freshman. As well as my parents for being so supportive, and my older sister Tiffany for getting the diving tradition started.
