Minnesota Moves Up to Top 5

MINNEAPOLIS - After posting a season-high team score in their meet last weekend against Iowa and Nebraska, the Gopher men's gymnastics team has moved up one place in the GymInfo national rankings to No. 5 this week.
The Gophers also moved up one place in the national coaches poll to be No. 5 as well. Minnesota improved its three-meet average by over three points with this weekend's results, giving the squad an average score of 435.600.
The rest of the top five is made up of No. 1 Oklahoma (445.050), No. 2 Michigan (441.900), No. 3 Ohio State (440.050) and No. 4 Stanford (439.200). Oklahoma and Michigan have occupied the top two spots for five weeks straight, while Ohio State and Stanford swapped places from last week.
Just below the Gophers are No. 6 Illinois (434.033), No. 7 Penn State (433.167) and No. 8 Iowa (427.983), the Gophers' opponent from a week ago.
