Gophers Remain No. 5 Nationally

MINNEAPOLIS - With most teams on a break due to the Winter Cup last weekend, the Gophers stayed at No. 5 in the GymInfo national rankings this week. Minnesota fell one place to No. 6 in the coaches poll.
The Gophers three-meet average of 435.600 remains ahead of Big Ten Conference rivals No. 6 Illinois (434.033), No. 7 Penn State (433.167) and No. 8 Iowa (431.683), but behind top-ranked Oklahoma (445.050), No. 2 Michigan (441.900) and No. 3 Ohio State (440.050). No. 4 Stanford (439.200) rounds out the top 10.
Individual rankings did change however, to reflect competition at the Winter Cup, with several Gophers moving around in the rankings.
Below is how the Gophers stack up against the national leaders in each event as a team and as individuals in the national rankings for the week of Feb. 24.
