The University of Minnesota women's rowing team logged more hours on the water over the weekend as it participated in a scrimmage with Sacramento State and Cal Saturday afternoon on Lake Natoma.
The Gophers had a great day of racing, which included three 2,000 meter pieces at a rate cap of 30, and one 1,000 meter race at a higher rate.
"Each team made personnel switches after each piece," head coach Wendy Davis said. "Coaches and athletes alike learned a great deal about who is moving the boat."
Minnesota will open the regular-season on March 15-16 at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
