Minnesota Maintains No. 5 Ranking

MINNEAPOLIS - The Golden Gopher men's gymnastics team maintained its No. 5 national ranking in the GymInfo top-15 national rankings this week with a four-meet average score of 433.800. The Gophers slipped one place to No. 6 in the national coaches poll.
Minnesota is idle this week in preparation for the 2014 Big Ten Championships next weekend. The Gophers finished third at last year's B1G meet, and this year's championships will be held in Lincoln, Neb., March 28-29.
Joining the Gophers in the national top five are No. 1 Oklahoma (443.917), No. 2 Ohio State (442.167), No. 3 Stanford (442.017) and No. 4 Michigan (439.983). The Buckeyes climbed two places from fourth in last week's poll.
Fellow Big Ten foes No. 6 Illinois (433.633), No. 7 Penn State (432.300), No. 8 Iowa (432.017) and No. 11 Nebraska (423.500) are also among the country's top teams.
