Why did you decide to swim for Minnesota?
On my visit I thought I immediately fit in with the guys and they were a lot of fun to be around. The coaching staff is incredible and I could tell they really care about their swimmers, not just about winning. I really felt like I could call Minnesota my home for the next 4+ years.
What are you looking forward to the most with starting your Golden Gopher collegiate career?
I can't wait to start being a part of a team that is very competitive on the national scale. Being able to train with so many fast guys and girls will be such a great experience and I know it will help me become the best swimmer I can be.
Thus far, what has been your best or most proud swimming memory?
So far I would say that I am most proud of being able to swim at Summer Juniors back in August. At the end of June, I broke my foot and was not able to get in the pool for two weeks. I had to slowly build into it, but was able to get best times in half of my events, despite not really having a solid summer of training.
What do you like to do for fun besides swimming?
Outside the pool I like to play pickup games of football and basketball with my friends.
How do you think you will contribute to the Gopher swimming and diving program?
I hope that I'll be able to bring an immediate impact to the relays, as well as an easygoing sense of humor that makes the long practices a little more enjoyable.
