Gophers Set for Last Tuneup for B1G Championships

This weekend, the University of Minnesota men's golf team will play its final spring tournament before the Big Ten Championships. The Rutherford Intercollegiate runs April 19-20 in State College, Pa.
Tee times on Saturday will start at 6:30 a.m. CDT. On Sunday, play will begin at 7 a.m. CDT.
The field: Joining host Penn State and the Gophers in the 14-team field are Army, Binghamton, Bowling Green, Connecticut, Eastern Michigan, La Salle, Maryland, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Wright State, Xavier and Youngstown State. Binghamton won last year's tournament.
The course: The Penn State Blue Course has a par of 71 and plays at 7,202 yards. It has hosted the 2009 Big Ten Championships and numerous other events.
Notes: *Minnesota has finished in the top three of its three spring tournaments so far. The Gophers won one, were runner-up in another and, most recently, finished third at the Hawkeye Invitational.
*The Gophers tied for third at last year's Rutherford Intercollegiate.
