Gophers Conclude Action at Boston Challenge

The University of Minnesota women's rowing team concluded competition at the Boston Challenge Sunday morning on the Charles River against Boston University and Syracuse, with the Golden Gophers' novice teams sweeping their races against varsity competition to highlight the day.
Minnesota's First Novice Eight finished with a time of 7:54.8 to defeat Syracuse's Third Varsity Eight by over 12 seconds and BU's 3V8 by almost 30 seconds, while the Gophers' 2N8 took first-place honors with an 11-second victory over the Terriers' 4V8.
Minnesota's First Varsity Eight finished second behind Syracuse by less than three seconds, as the Orange placed first with a time of 7:12.8, while the Gophers posted a time of 7:15.1. BU crossed in third place with a time of 7:33.1.
The 2V8 and 1V4 boats also notched second-place finishes, both following Syracuse with times of 7:30.1 and 8:09.9, respectively.
The Gophers travel to East Lansing, Mich., on April 12 for a Big Ten quad dual against Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
