The University of Minnesota women's rowing team placed sixth at the 2014 Big Ten Rowing Championships with 55 combined team points Sunday morning at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Ind. Lynn Hodnett was named First Team All-Big Ten, while Katherine Windsor was awarded a spot on the Al-Big Ten Second Team. Chelsea Miller was the Gophers' recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

Ohio State won its second-straight title with a Big Ten Championship record 164 points, as it recorded five first-place finishes. Michigan followed in second with 140 points and Wisconsin finished third with 109 points.

The third varsity four was Minnesota's top finisher at the championships, as the team of coxswain Alyssa Chu-Tom, Abbey Kroll, McKenzie Lukacs, Amy VanHeel and Abby Tarasewicz won bronze with a time of 8:09.545 ahead of Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa. Ohio State won the event in 7:34.959, with Michigan finishing second.

Minnesota's second novice eight, second varsity four and second varsity eight each notched fifth-place finishes in their respective events, with the 2V8 posting a time of 6:57.544.

The first varsity eight finished sixth in the main event of the championships in 6:49.668 to earn 18 points toward the team total.
