Hockey Canada release | Fall Festival Roster

CALGARY, Alberta - Gopher women's hockey alumni Sarah Davis and Kelly Terry are among the 58 players that will attend Canada's National Women's Team Fall Festival, taking place Sept. 22-28 at WinSport's Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Hockey Canada announced this week.

The roster includes six goaltenders, 16 defensemen and 36 forwards, who will be split up into Black, Red and White teams for practices and intrasquad games.

Davis and Terry each have previous experience with Hockey Canada. They both have won gold with Canada's National Women's Development Team at the Meco/MLP/Air Canada Cup and won gold with Canada's National Women's Under-18 Team at the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship.

Davis and Terry were both drafted into the Canadian Women's Hockey League over the summer as well. Davis was the third overall pick in the draft, selected by the Calgary Inferno, while Terry was chosen seventh overall by the Toronto Furies.

Hockey Canada's camp will serve as an evaluation opportunity for Canada's National Women's Team coaching staff, including head coach Doug Derraugh and assistant coaches Tim Bothwell and Dwayne Gylywoychuk, and Team Canada scouts, led by Melody Davidson, Hockey Canada's general manager of national women's team programs.

Following Canada's National Women's Team Fall Festival, players will be monitored at international events, such as the 2014 4 Nations Cup in Kamloops, B.C., as well as with their club teams during the 2014-15 season. These evaluations will assist coaches and scouts in selecting the team that will represent Canada at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship in Malmö, Sweden, next April.
