Gophers Record 12 Career-Bests

ETTRICK, Wis. - Twelve Golden Gophers recorded career-best 6K times and another four earned season-best times as members of the Minnesota women's cross country team raced at the Tori Neubauer Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse Saturday afternoon.
Molly Eastman led Minnesota in 10th place, recording a career-best time of 22:30.21. The top four Gophers all ran career-best times as Nicole Heitzman (22:47.98), Delaney Sinnen (22:56.01) and Caitlin Dillon (23:00.41) finished 18th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
Minnesota's top five runners all earned top-30 finishes as Melissa Cabak rounded out the top five in a season-best 23:07.43 for 29th place.
The Gophers finished as runners-up in the team standings, scoring 101 points behind host UW-La Crosse with 48 points. Cornell College (142), Macalester (157) and the College of Saint Benedict (202) completed the top five teams at the 22-team meet.
The Gophers will be back in action when they host Jack's Twilight Run at Les Bolstad Course at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23. Local runners and cross country fans alike have the opportunity to race on the Gophers' home course as the 6K race is open to the public.
Participation in the race is free, but donations are encouraged. A Jack's Run hat will be given to those donating $20 or more. All proceeds from the race go toward the Jack Johnson Scholarship. The race features same-day registration only.
