Divers Sweep B1G Weekly Awards

Junior divers Yu Zhou and Matt Barnard have been selected as the Big Ten Conference's Divers of the Week after their performances at Florida State this past weekend.
Zhou garnered a first place finish in one-meter diving (325.65 points) and second place mark in three-meter (306.75 points). The women's team collected first, second and third in both diving events aiding to the team's 212-88 win against the Seminoles. She is coming off a prolific season after being named the 2015 NCAA Diver of the Year, Big Ten Diver of the Year and Big Ten Diver of the Championships for her NCAA title in three-meter and Big Ten titles on one-meter and three-meter. This honor marks the fourth time Zhou has been named Women's Big Ten Diver of the Week.
On the men's side, Barnard led the way earning gold in three-meter diving (382.35 points), and a silver-finish in the one-meter event (317.62 points) in Tallahassee. Barnard earned a bronze medal at the 2015 NCAA Championships in platform diving when he had a Minnesota school record-breaking performance of 473.80 points. This is the first weekly conference honor of Barnard's career.
The Gophers are set to host the Florida Gators this Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. The meet is set to start at 10 a.m. and will mark the annual #PackThePool event, as well as Senior Day.
