MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) -- The Gopher Hockey program stepped away from the ice on Saturday to do a different kind of work as the Maroon & Gold visited the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.
Armed with candy and costumes, the Gopher Hockey program decided to start the Halloween celebration early Saturday morning -- visiting patients and their families on campus.
"We talked as a team about wanting to do something special with the weekend off, and we remembered how much fun we had going trick-or-treating as kids," redshirt junior forward and alternate captain Connor Reilly said. "So many of these kids and families weren't going to be able to do that this year, so we figured we could bring the fun to them for Halloween."
