MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) -- After an impressive second-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Midwest Regional this weekend, the University of Minnesota men's cross country program jumped up to No. 16 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll ahead of this weekend's NCAA championships in Louisville, Ky.

Minnesota jumped 10 places in the poll from last week (No. 26 heading into the regional) -- the biggest change of any NCAA team ranked by the USTFCCCA.

The Gophers posted four All-Region honorees (Aaron Bartnik, Adam Zutz, Obsa Ali, Charlie Lawrence) and combined for 95 points at the NCAA Midwest Regional. The performance earned the Maroon & Gold an automatic bid to the national championships -- the first time since 2011 that the entire team will run for an NCAA title.

The 2015 NCAA Championships are set for Saturday, Nov. 21 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The men's 10-kilometer race is set for 12 p.m. CT with the women's six-kilometer race starting at 11 a.m.
