Plummer Repeats Gold in Doha

Golden Gopher alumnus David Plummer collected gold and silver medals at the FINA Swimming World Cup in Doha, Qatar. 

Plummer’s time of 24.70 in the 50-meter backstroke tied for first with Australia’s Larkin. He had a silver finish in the 100 back, finishing with a time of 53.18. 

At last week’s series stop in Tokyo, Plummer finished first and second in the 50 and 100 back events, respectively. His 50 back time of 24.58 marked the fastest time in the world this year. 

Plummer will make his last stop on the 2015 FINA Swimming World Cup in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event is slated to run from Nov. 6-7. 

The backstroke standout graduated from Minnesota in 2008 and was an 11-time All-American and team captain. The 2016 Olympic Trials will be the fourth of his career. He is a member of the U.S. National Team.
