Minnesota Announces 2026-27 Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The University of Minnesota swimming and diving program has announced their full season schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season, including five home contests at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
"We are coming off a very nice summer as a team, and I'm looking forward to us carrying this momentum into our college season," said Director of Swimming and Diving, Kelly Kremer. "We are excited to be returning to the Dual Meet Tournament in Atlanta early season, and equally looking forward to our opportunities to compete against many of our Big Ten peers along the way. By February and March, we should be well prepared to compete at the Big Ten and NCAA Championships!"
The Gopher women's program will look to open up the year at home with a dual against the University of Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, October 10. The men's program will make their season debut the following week as the Gophers make their return to The Dual Meet Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia, beginning on Friday, October 16.
The maroon and gold will take a one day pit stop in Vermillion, South Dakota for a tri-dual against the University of South Dakota and the University of Nebraska on Friday, Oct. 23, before the swimmers make their way to the United State Short Course World Championship Trials, lasting from Wednesday, Oct. 28 to Saturday, Oct. 31.
Minnesota and Wisconsin are set for their annual border battle on Friday, Nov. 6, in Madison, WI. The Gophers will close out the first half of the season at home with the Minnesota Invitational beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 2 until Saturday, Dec. 5.
The Gopher swimmers will kick off 2027 with a trip to the Sunshine State for a meet against the Tampa Spartans on Friday, Jan. 15, before returning home for a tri-dual with St. Thomas and SDSU the following week on Friday, Jan. 22. A trip to West Lafayette for a tri-dual with big ten opponents Northwestern and Purdue on Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30 precedes the First Chance Meet on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6 in the Gophers' home pool.
Championship season kicks off with the Women's Big Ten Championships in Iowa City with the four day event beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The Men's Big Ten Championships takes place the following week, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 24, in West Lafayette.
Swimmers will have one final chance to qualify for nationals with the Women's and Men's Last Chance Meets, taking place on Feb. 28 and Mar. 7 respectively. The NCAA Zone D Diving Championships are set to take place from Mar. 8 to Mar. 10, giving divers their own opportunity to qualify for nationals.
The University of Texas is set to host the 2027 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas. The Women's Championships are set to take place from Wednesday, Mar. 17 to Saturday, Mar. 20, while the Men's Championships are set to take place from Wednesday, Mar. 24 to Saturday, Mar. 27.
The Gophers will close out the year with a special LCM meet against the Wisconsin Badgers at home in the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the weekend of Apr. 24.
