MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The University of Minnesota swimming and diving program announced today the addition of program alumni Logan Redondo as an Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Redondo spent the 2025-26 season with the University of Virginia Swimming and Diving Program, serving as the Director of Professional Performance and Data Analysis. While with the Cavaliers, Redondo developed athlete performance profiling programs to help evaluate tactical performance, training adaptations, stroke efficiency, and race strategy in high-performance environments. Redondo also supported collegiate and professional swimmers while assisting coaching staff with recruiting evaluations and athlete performance projections.

"We are so excited to welcome Logan back to Minnesota as a Coach of the Gophers! Our student athletes will benefit from his experiences leading the Nadadores and working with UVA. Logan has done an outstanding job everywhere he's been, and we are looking forward to the positive impact he will have on Minnesota Swimming and Diving!" said Director of Swimming and Diving, Kelly Kremer.

Before arriving at UVA, Redondo served as the head senior coach for the Mission Viejo Nadadores for four years. During Redondo's time with the Nadadores, his swimmers earned 10 gold medals at Junior Nationals and won two individual high-point awards. His swimmers have set three national age group records, three Junior National meet records, more than 10 Southern California Swimming records and multiple Philippine and Venezuelan national records. He took the club from having no athletes above the US Open level to having seven US Nationals qualifiers, four US Junior National team members, three Olympic Trials qualifiers and one senior national team member on the United States, Philippines and Venezuelan squads.

"I am so grateful for the opportunity to return to the University of Minnesota and continue building upon its historic legacy, now as a coach. I want to thank the staff at the University of Virginia and Cavalier Aquatics, as I would not have this opportunity without their support, as well as Coach Kelly Kremer and the Gopher staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. The future is incredibly bright in Minneapolis, and I cannot wait to get to work and chase the very best version of ourselves together as a TEAM for the past, present, and future of Minnesota Swimming & Diving. Go Gophers!"

Before coaching the club, Logan swam for Mission Viejo, representing the Nadadores at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Trials, finishing 18th in the 1500m freestyle at the 2016 Olympic Trials.

Redondo swam four years at the University of Minnesota, representing the Gophers at the Big Ten and NCAA championships. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2017 with a BS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology.
