The Top 10.0 Things You Need to Know

1.0 - No. 19 Minnesota will travel to Ames, Iowa on Friday, Feb. 20 to take on Iowa State in the first of two meets on the weekend. The meet is set to begin live from Hilton Coliseum at 6:30 p.m. CT. 2.0 - The Gophers will return to the Sports Pavilion to host their annual Best of Minnesota meet featuring Gustavus Adolphus, Hamline and Winona State Sunday at 2 p.m. The Gophers will feature Bailie Holst on the program and in-game video board features. The Sunday meet will be streamed live on BTN Plus and live stats can be found here.

3.0 - Last weekend, the Gophers fell to No. 7 Nebraska at the Sports Pavilion but all eyes were on junior Lindsay Mable as she had a career night for the Maroon and Gold. The Aurora, Colo. native paced the competition by posting a school record 39.675 in the all-around competition en route to her seventh consecutive all-around crown and two individual event titles. The previous school record was also set by Mable last season as she tallied a 39.650 on March 22, 2014 in order to secure the Big Ten all-around title. On Saturday, Mable earned a career-high and school record tying 9.975 on the floor exercise, good enough to earn her fourth straight floor exercise title. She also recorded solid scores on vault (9.900), bars (9.875) and beam (9.925). After an exception weekend for the Maroon and Gold, Mable earned her fourth and second straight Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honors of 2015. Individually, Mable ranks seventh in the national in terms of all-around average score while she currently sits in second place in the region behind Utah's Georgia DaBritz.

4.0 - After posting their second highest score of the season against No. 7 Nebraska (196.675), the Gophers moved up in GymInfo's National Top 25 poll from 22nd to 19th place overall. The Maroon and Gold have an average score of 195.432 as they head into their last two-meet weekend of the season. The squad continues to rise in the weekly rankings as they moved from 21st to 19th on vault (48.993), from 26th to 25th on uneven bars (48.739), from 17th to 16th (48.832) and from 32nd to 22nd on floor exercise (48.868).

6.0 - Minnesota currently sits in a four-way tie for fourth place in the Big Ten Conference after victories over the Spartans and Buckeyes and losses to Illinois on the road and Nebraska at home. The Gophers earned their second conference win over Ohio State where they scored their second highest score of the season, 196.325. Minnesota's highest score was the weekend before at Michigan State where they recorded a season-high 196.875. Last weekend, the Gophers fell to 3-3 on the season after their road loss to Illinois. The Gophers fell to No. 7 Nebraska by .500 of a point on Saturday evening.

7.0 - The Gophers returned 9 gymnasts from 2014 including two-time All-American and Big Ten all-around Champion, Lindsay Mable, as well as Gopher standouts in seniors Jenny Covers and Cierra Tomson. Minnesota had a successful 2014 season where they won their second consecutive Big Ten regular season title and advanced to the NCAA Regional held at the University of Minnesota. Minnesota welcomed five new members to the family at the beginning of the academic year. Freshmen Abby DeMuse, Bailey Gardner, Ciara Gardner, Hannah Hitchcock and Rachel Rowland will make their regular season debut when the Gophers host Iowa State on Saturday. At the annual intrasquad meet, Gardner placed third in the all-around and DeMuse finished in a tie for second place on the bars (9.750) and fourth on floor (9.750).

8.0 - The Maroon and Gold will host six home meets during the 2015 season including the Big Ten Qualifier featuring Iowa, Michigan, Penn State and Rutgers on March 14. Last season, six Big Ten teams finished the 2014 season ranked in the top 25 teams in the country. Minnesota finished the season ranked 14th nationally. 9.0 - The back-to-back Big Ten Conference regular season champions were tabbed to place fifth in the Big Ten this season. Juniors Lindsay Mable and Madeline Hanley were named as gymnasts to watch this season. The University of Michigan women's gymnastics team earned the coveted top spot in the coaches' poll while No. 2 Nebraska and No. 3 Illinois round out the top three. Minnesota will match up with Maryland on Thursday. The Terrapins earned the seventh place spot in the preseason poll.
